Reddit user history and deleted comments

Enter a Reddit username or paste a profile link to see every archived comment and post, including ones the user later deleted or edited. See which subreddits they use most and when the account was first and last active. No login needed.

How to see someone's Reddit history

Type the username, with or without u/, or paste a link such as reddit.com/user/username. IdSnoop shows the account's comment and post counts, karma, the date of its first and last activity, and the subreddits it posts in most. Below that, the Comments and Posts tabs list everything newest first, with a link to open each one on Reddit. Use the filter box to search the loaded items for a word, and load older pages to go further back.

How deleted comments are still visible

The history comes from Arctic Shift, a public Reddit archive used by researchers and moderators. It saves comments and posts within seconds of them being made. When a user later deletes or edits a comment, Reddit shows [deleted] or the new text, but the archive keeps the version it saved. A comment deleted in the first few seconds may be missing its text, and those are marked as deleted before the archive saved it.

What the subreddit list tells you

The subreddits someone posts in most say a lot about them: their city, their job, their hobbies, the games they play and the products they own. A local subreddit near the top often points to where they live. It is the quickest way to understand who is behind an account before you trust a trade, a review or a message from them.

Check if a Reddit account is real

Spam and scam accounts usually have a short or strange history: a new account with almost no comments, an old account that was silent for years and suddenly posts links, or a history that was mostly deleted. Look at the first active date, the mix of subreddits, and whether the comments read like a real person. Then run the same username through the IdSnoop username search to see if it is registered on other sites.

Find your own old Reddit comments

Deleting a comment on Reddit does not remove it from archives. Search your own username to see what is still readable about you, from old posts in local subreddits to comments that mention your job or where you live. If something personal is there, you can ask Arctic Shift to remove it through the removal request form linked on its GitHub page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see deleted Reddit comments?

Yes, in most cases. The archive saves comments seconds after they are posted, so a comment the user deleted later still shows its original text here. Comments deleted almost immediately, and comments from accounts that asked to be removed from the archive, are not available.

Will the user know I looked at their history?

No. IdSnoop reads a public archive and never contacts Reddit or the account, so nothing is sent to the user.

Does it work for suspended or deleted accounts?

Usually yes. The archive keeps what the account posted while it was active, so a suspended or deleted account can still show its comment and post history.

Why are some numbers different from the Reddit profile?

Account totals such as karma and comment counts are updated in the archive less often than the comments themselves, so they can lag behind the live profile. The comment and post lists are up to date within seconds.

Is the Reddit history viewer free?

Yes. Looking up a Reddit user on IdSnoop is free and does not need an account.
