Email account checker

Enter an email address to see which sites have an account registered to it, including X, Spotify, Microsoft 365, Proton Mail and WordPress. The check takes a few seconds, and nothing is sent to the address.

What the email account checker does

Most sites will not let two accounts share one email address, so their sign-up and login pages can tell whether an address is already in use. The checker asks each site that question and lists the ones where the email is registered. It is the email version of a username search: instead of following a handle, it follows the address an account was created with.

Find accounts you forgot you made

Over the years most people sign up for dozens of services and forget half of them. Each forgotten account is a password that may have leaked, an old profile with your name on it, or a subscription still charging your card. Run your own email through the checker to find them, then log in and update the password or delete the account. Our guide to deleting an account you cannot log into covers what to do when the password is long gone.

Check who is behind a message

When an unknown address emails you with an offer, an invoice or a request for money, the accounts behind it tell you a lot. A real person or business usually has the address registered on everyday services. A brand new address with no accounts anywhere is a common sign of a throwaway inbox made for a scam.

How the check works

For each site, IdSnoop asks the same question the site's own sign-up, login or public lookup page asks: is this email already in use? The site answers yes or no and nothing else. No account is created, no password reset is started, and no message goes to the address, so the owner is not notified. Sites that only reveal an account by sending a reset email are left out for that reason.

What the results mean

Account found means the site confirmed an account uses this email. No account means the site said the email is free. Could not check means the site did not answer this time, usually because it was busy, so try again in a few minutes. A found account says nothing about what is on it: profiles, posts and messages stay private, and IdSnoop never shows them.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find out which sites my email is registered on?

Type the email address above and press search. IdSnoop checks each site and lists the ones where an account uses the address, with a link to open each site.

Will the owner of the email know I checked it?

No. The checker only asks whether the address is in use. It does not sign up, log in, start a password reset or send anything to the address.

Which sites does the checker cover?

It checks 19 sites, including X (Twitter), Spotify, Microsoft 365, Proton Mail, WordPress.com, Gravatar, Flickr, Eventbrite, Replit and LastPass. Each one is tested regularly, and sites whose checks stop being reliable are removed.

Does it work for any email provider?

Yes. It works for Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, Proton and work or school addresses. For Gmail addresses, Gmail search can also show the Google account behind the address.

Is the email account checker free?

Yes. Checking an email on IdSnoop is free and does not need an account.
